This info is according to Ballenas y delfines de América Central / Whales and Dolphins of Central America. I'll try my best to reword this, but I'm not good at that. I apologise if any of the authors sees this...

What to do[]

  1. Approach animals from the sides and behind.
  2. Keep your boat or vessel on a fixed coarse.
  3. Maintain the boat at a constant speed.
  4. Always keep the boat at the speed of the slowest animal.

What not to do[]

  1. Interrupt the animals' movement.
  2. Pursue or surround them.
  3. Put the boat's motor in reverse.
  4. Continuously turn the boat's motor on and off.
  5. Disturb or interfere with groups of cetaceans while they are feeding or mating.
