The babbler clade or Old World babblers or Old World warblers is a clade of various passerine Sylvioidean birds found in the Old World. It is sister to the Acrocephalus clade.
Description[]
Babblers are quite varied in size with species ranging from small wren-sized birds up to others as big as small crows.[2]
Warblers are small, slender birds have thin bills and a variety of plumages, but most are rather plain in appearance with dull browns being the dominate colour.[2] There are exceptions, however; and a number have striking plumages,[2] such as the Eurasian Blackcap (which is grey), Common Whitethroat and its cohorts (which are grey-brown above with white undersides[3]:Lesser), Rueppell's Warbler (which is black and grey), Barred Warbler (which resembles a cuckoo) and Dartford Warbler (which is grey with reddish-brown underparts).
