Also known as the Christmas Island Frigatebird.

Description

The frigatebird is 94–97 cm (37–38 in) long with a wingspan of 2 - 2.3 m.

Males have a white lower abdomen with a black plumage. Also sports a red inflatable throat sac. Females have a white breast which forms a partial rear collar and extends to lower belly as well as to its black underwing.[1]

Similar to the Great Frigatebird in regards to its inflatable throat sac.[1]

Distribution/habitat

Generally found in tropical seas, oceanic islands and various coasts along the Indian Ocean. Is critically endangered. [1]
