One of the elements of Earth's periodic table. It has atomic number 10, and is a noble gas. It has the symbol/abbreviation Ne. In normal conditions, it is an invisible gas, but if electricity is passed through it, it will glow a characteristic orange-yellow. Neon is often used in lighting because of this colour.
