Spelaeornis, the typical wren-babblers, is a bird genus in the family Timaliidae. Among this group, the typical wren-babblers are quite closely related to the type species, the Chestnut-capped Babbler (Timalia pileata). One species that was earlier placed in the genus, the Spotted Wren-Babbler has been removed to a genus of its own Elachura and placed in a separate family.[1]
It contains the following species:
- Rufous-throated Wren-Babbler, Spelaeornis caudatus
- Rusty-throated Wren-Babbler, Spelaeornis badeigularis
- Bar-winged Wren-Babbler, Spelaeornis troglodytoides
- Tawny-breasted Wren-Babbler, Spelaeornis longicaudatus
- Naga Wren-Babbler, Spelaeornis chocolatinus
- Chin Hills Wren-Babbler, Spelaeornis oatesi
- Grey-bellied Wren-Babbler, Spelaeornis reptatus
- Pale-throated Wren-Babbler, Spelaeornis kinneari
